A Koerner tank, with its fibre-reinforced sandwich construction, is a thermolastic composite that doesn't deform under the effects of temperature, which is why aircraft parts made with this construction are state of the art. Polypropylene and Polyethylene tanks are among the thermoplastics that do deform under the effect of temperature and lose their strength. This increases the risk of the tank breaking at high as well as low temperatures!
